Gaia Online

Tue Sep 15, 2009, 5:35 PM
That's right Gaia Online, basically everything I find wrong on the internet conveniently rolled into one meaningless game. Hmm? What's that? I said I'd be reviewing a game called Trickster Online? *SLAP* NO! That's a bad reader.

To be honest I don't have too much to say about Gaia's gameplay SINCE IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY. The only thing to do in the game (other than shit you can do while waiting for the bell to ring in high school) is to fish, and even that's boring as all hell. Basically the entire "point" of the game is to meet people and chat with friends with your anime like environment.

Before I go into my experience on Gaia Online I would like to talk to you about the dangers of playing Gaia Online. It's terrible, I could feel my brain rotting every second I spent looking at the stupidity of something aparently 1.4 million people endure. I do not condone playing Gaia Online at all, if your friend wants to play Gaia Online STOP THEM, then give them a hug and make the world a better place.

Now in order to say I experienced Gaia Online to it's fullest (a hard concept to grasp) I would've needed to socialize with the other "Gaians"... Trust me... I have... For a game that's meant to be for kids 12-17 it certainly succeeds at that because almost every player are 12 year old kids constantly going on about anything related to sex... It's like the training ground for future members of the Alliance.

Not saying all the socializing was bad (I want to hurt them all) there was 1 good experience where we got to talk and generaly enjoy a bad situation (he/she hated Gaia too). But 1 good experience in 2 weeks is barely worth it. Now that I think deeper about it the good experience was almost ruined by a random...thing came in and claimed it was Avril Laveign (no idea how to spell her name and couldn't give a shit) completely interrupted the conversation being emo (EMOS!!!!!).

Now lets find whats wrong with the entire concept of using Gaia Online in today's internet. The point of Gaia online is to get people to socialize in a game. How this has 1.4 million people are playing is mind boggling because most normal people (except me) use Facebook, while socializing in a game can be done in (you saw it coming) World of Warcraft which is a hell lot of fun than this pile of garbage.

Overall other than that one fun experience where I had a good conversation with a decent human being there is absolutly no point in this "game" don't try it, not worth your time. 3/10 cute graphics, does what it's meant to do, and bonus point for decent avatar customization (though you must get the clothing by playing the game).

Next time... Err... Any suggestions?
